Thanks to six-core, the Intel Core i7-8850H 12-thread, it's more powerful than some cellular workstations one or two years ago.

The 45-watt "Coffee Lake" CPU carries several disadvantages compared to Intel's very adequate 15-watt U-series chip - Dell's battery life is shorter and the cooling fan is harder than our Editor's Choice Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon. But for users who want to run video editing or other demanding applications on a slim 3.8-pound portable device, Latitude 5491 fills a good niche.
